Almost 10 years ago, working by myself out of a super small workshop outside of Dallas, Texas, a super cool client, also named Joel, reached out to me needing a metal art piece for a hotel courtyard in nearby Las Colinas.
A steel sculpture is a product who’s process really has no rules, no right or wrong and anyone can do it. At the beginning stages of design and fabrication of a sculpture, we will each draw upon our experiences with the materials and tools we are most comfortable with at the time to dictate the sculptures scale and complexity. It’s a lifetime cycle of trying, learning and trying again with the hopes of each time getting better and better.
We have produced many interior art pieces over the years that we will cover in future blog posts but with the experience, machinery and the amazing crew that Weld House has grown to enjoy today, we would love to do more large scale commercial or residential modern steel sculptures.
